Zia Stamps:
Zia's Large Ginkgo Leaf,
Egyptian Moon Column, Wide Butterfly and Moth Bug
Materials:
Watercolor paper 140#
Black card stock for mounting 6 x 8"
Document ink
"M" Series - Moss and Magic, UCWJ's - Malachite
Colored markers and pencils
Small watercolor brush
White crayon
Metallic Flow - Gold
Fluorescent crayons - green and yellow
Scissors
Paper adhesive
Heat gun
Technique:
1) Scribble white crayon
on 4 x 5-1/2 piece of watercolor paper. Apply Gold Metallic Flow
to non-porous working surface and press the watercolor paper
into it. Dry with heat gun.
2) Stamp Large Ginkgo Leaf in Document ink to create background.
3) Spray Moss, Magic and Malachite
onto watercolor paper - dry with heat gun.
4) Highlight leaves with
fluorescent crayons - green and yellow and set aside.
5) Stamp Column, Butterfly and Moth in Document ink onto watercolor
paper - dry with heat gun.
6) Spray Butterfly in Magic, Moth in Moss - dry with heat gun.
7) Color Column image areas with variety of colored markers using
a small paint brush and water to pull and bleed the marker colors.
8) Highlight Butterfly and Moth with colored pencils and markers
to further coordinate.
9) Cut out all images with scissors and arrange/layer as shown
(both Butterfly and Moth have been cut in half).
10) Scribble colored pencils on black card stock and mount art
work to it.
11) Sign your art creation!
