NEW Zia's Cicada, Flying Bug and Zialligraphy
Materials:
Zia's Hot Jewel - Kiwi and Papaya, Ultra Color Wash Jewels -
Amethyst and Sapphire and
Chroma Jewels - Forest
Watercolor paper #140 - 3 pieces - 14" x 6", 6"
x 6" and 4 x 2"
Colored crayons, pencils and colored markers
Paintbrush
Paper towels
Permanent black ink - Document Ink or India Ink
Paper adhesive, scissors and heat gun
Technique:
1) Scribble white and yellow crayons on 6 x 6" watercolor
paper.
2) Spray paper with sapphire and amethyst Ultra Color Wash Jewels.
Dry with heat gun. Generously spatter water on the painted paper
using a watercolor brush. Let water sit for a few minutes then
blot off water with paper towels. Dry with heat gun.
3) Stamp Flying Bug image on paper using black permanent ink
. Dry with heat gun. Tear off top portion of paper and set aside.
Color Flying Bug with colored pencils and markers.
4) Spray larger paper with a combination of Kiwi, Papaya and
Forest. Turn paper over and press the painted paper onto a non-porous
table surface. Turn over and spray again with Forest. Generously
spatter water on the painted paper using a watercolor brush.
Let water sit for a few minutes then blot off water with paper
towels. Dry with heat gun. Stamp Zialligraphy image on the right
side, vertically and dry with heat gun.
5) Stamp Cicada in black permanent ink . Dry with heat gun. Color
Cicada with colored pencils and markers. Cut out and set aside.
6) Cut small rectangles out of torn off piece of watercolor paper.
7) Arrange all pieces as shown in above sample and glue down.
