Material:

  • Zia's Aspen Leaf Stamp
  • Document Ink
  • Zia's Watercolor Paper
  • Zia's Custom Palette of Twinkling H2O's
  • heat gun, watercolor brush and water container

    Technique:

    1) Pre-moisten Blue Flame, Sky Blue and Ginger Peach with a couple drops of water.

    2) Stamp Aspen Leaf on watercolor paper with document ink. Dry with heat gun to set ink.

    3) Paint with water one half of one of the Aspen leaves. Drop Sky Blue color closest to the middle leaf vein and then tilt your paper to let the color run towards outside edge of leaf.

    4) Drop Blue Flame color closest to the outside leaf edge and then tilt paper to run color towards middle of leaf. Remember not to completely "cover" your leaves with color. The success of this card is that the white of the paper helps to separate the two "blues".

    5) Continue with steps 2 and 3 until all leaves are completed.

    6) Dry paper with heat gun and paint in leaf veins with Ginger Peach color.
